Dr. Lori Ryker, founder and director of the Artemis Institute, will be speaking about Remote Studio on Wednesday, November 10, from 12 pm-1pm in the Shattuck Hall Annex.

Dr. Lori Ryker is the founder and director of the Remote Studio, a design-build group within theh Artemis Institute nonprofit organization  and affiliated with Montana State University. Dr. Ryker's work emphasizes sustainability and an environmental awareness connected to the surrounding natural landscape. She is the author of three books, including Mockbee Coker: Thought and Process, Off the Grid and Off the Grid Homes.

Dr. Ryker will be speaking about Remote Studio, a full immersion educational program offered through Artemis Institute that provides semester-long, hands-on program in the Yellowstone Eco-region for design students. The program combines environmental philosophy and back-country experiences with a design/build project for community clients.
