Dollars for Scholars Benefit Concert
Local student talent performers from 3rd - 12th grade. Program will include choir, soloist, clean rap, spoken word, and dance!
The goal of the Dollars for Scholars benefit is to raise money to help keep and/or bring forth more academic and extracurricular programming options for our youth. To this end, we are putting on a performance benefit concert to raise money for Portland's public schools. We are excited about this performance benefit! It allows our communities youth the opportunity to speak out and declare "We want our education!"
The Dollars for Scholars program board is a group of local parents, community members, and educators concerned about our children's future and the Portland Public School system. Youth are now living in a world that says education comes second-hand. We say education can and should come first! We believe that if we our children are not equitably educated, not only do they risk minimal growth but our community suffers as well.
In the belief that our children are the future of tomorrow, our mission is to foster positive young men and women who look forward to a bright and successful future. We believe in the saying "knowledge is power!" Without education, the power of tomorrows' future is taken away. To that end, we strive to raise moneys for programming to benefit the Portland Public School system and its constituents to forge a stronger community alliance within both the Portland Public School system and the Portland metro area.
