The Disappearance of Sombath Somphone: Implications for Civil Society and Human Rights in Laos
Tuesday, April 22, 2014 - 6:30pm

Sombath  Somphone is often described as the Nelson Mandela of Laos.  In December 2012, he was abducted at a police stop in the Lao capital, and has not been seen since.  Sombath’s wife Shui-Meng Ng, herself a prominent civil-society advocate, will discuss her husband’s case and challenges to human rights throughout Southeast Asia.

Please join us for this very special event.

This event is cosponsored by PSU's Institute for Asian Studies and the Unitarian Universalist church.

Event will take place on PSU's campus, SMSU room 238.
