Department of Anthropology's Annual Alumni & Student Lecture:

A Bird's Eye View of Variegated Lemurs On Madagascar's Masoala Peninsula

A Lecture by Dr. Natalie Vasey, Associate Professor, Portland State University

Thursday, May 12th at 7:30-8:30 pm at University Place, Willamette Falls Ballroom

Found only in Madagascar, lemurs are threatened by habitat destruction and deforestation. Dr. Vasey will present her recent project documenting lemur behaviour, as seen from high in the canopy of Madagascar's precious north eastern rain forests. Her work highlights ways anthropology and primate ecology contributes to the conservation of these remarkable creatures.
