“Teach the Middle East Conference for K - 12 Educators,” featuring a keynote panel of Middle Eastern students and grade-level curricular workshops and breakout sessions focusing on the cultures of Turkey, Iran, Israel and the Arab world. Also includes Middle Eastern lunch, entertainment, a "Middle Eastern Market" and organizations representing several Middle Eastern countries.
When: Saturday, April 18th, 2009
Keynote Panel, mid-day market and lunch in Hoffman Hall (SW 11th Ave and SW Harrison); Breakout sessions and closing in Smith Memorial Student Union (1825 SW Broadway)
Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Cost: $25 teachers, general public, $15 full-time students.
Registration required by April 14.
Conference will be followed by a "Teach the Middle East
Youth Forum" for middle and high school students on December 11, 2009.
