A Portrait of Visual Transformation over Thirty Years

The main goal of this talk is to help audiences develop a more comprehensive picture of the core of Chinese visual culture, through an objective understanding of the inner coherence and causal logic of modern Chinese history. By exploring how modern Chinese history, which has primarily been a social, political and economic construct, crucial questions will be raised about the issues of debate underlying the artwork. 

Lecture by Mr. Weijun Cao, free-lance curator and writer based in Dali, China and Sapporo, Japan. He studied at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Bard College, and New School for Social Research in New York, USA and Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan. 

This lecture will be held in PSU School of Business Building 490 (631 SW Harrison Street, Portland OR 97201).
