Noggin Fest: A Celebration of Science, Art and Music

What: Noggin Fest, the largest art and neuroscience festival in the Pacific Northwest, returns for a second year. Touch real brains, boil water with your brain, step inside of a brain where all the neurons are made of balloons, and learn about some of the latest research in neuroscience. There's also live music, artwork and food.

The festival, which is entirely student-run and organized, is a fundraiser for NW Noggin, a Portland State University-based art and neuroscience educational outreach group that visits K-12 schools throughout the state. This year's event will help send 10 students to San Diego to give the keynote address on brain awareness at the Society for Neuroscience Conference.

When: Friday, Oct. 19, 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 20, noon to midnight

Where: Watershed PDX, 5040 SE Milwaukie Ave, Portland, OR 97202

Suggested donation of $5 to $10
