The following scholarship opportunities are offered by PSU for fully-admitted PSU study abroad students. Winterrowd Endowed Scholarship for Overseas Studies

The Winterrowd Scholarship for Overseas Travel and Study is designed to provide financial assistance to full-time PSU undergraduate students who wish to intern and/or study abroad. Funds may be used to offset travel expenses or tuition. Scholarships will be awarded to students who wish to study abroad/intern in non-English speaking countries for at least 90 days.

Peter & Christine Nickerson Scholarship for Asian Studies (for summer study in China)

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding for 1-2 PSU students to participate in a summer study abroad or internship program in China. Scholarship Award is up to $5,000. Criteria? 1) Students should be in a field of study related to China. 2) Demonstrated financial need is preferred. 3) Students should be in good academic standing at PSU. 4) Students who have been to China are not eligible to apply. 5) U.S. Citizens only 

Scan/Design Foundation Scholarship Online Application

The Scan/Design by Inger & Jens Bruun Foundation was established by the Bruuns to promote and strengthen the relationship between their native Denmark and their adopted home, the United States. As part of their mission, they have funded two generous scholarships to Portland State University students in recognition of PSU’s ongoing commitment to teaching Danish language and culture and cultivating educational ties with DIS (Danish Institute for Study Abroad) and CBS (Copenhagen Business School). Criteria? 1) Undergraduate, post-baccalaureate or graduate students fully admitted at PSU. 2) Students must be admitted to DIS (Danish Institute for Study Abroad program). 3) Overall grade point average of 3.00 or higher. 4) Demonstrate financial need. 5) Must be applied to the term it's awarded.

USAC Alliance Scholarship

Criteria? 1) Undergraduate students fully admitted at PSU. 2) Overall grade point average of 2.75 or higher. 3) Demonstrate financial need. Scholarship awards are made by a committee a few weeks after the application deadline. Award Amounts range from $500 - $2000 each and 2-5 scholarships will be awarded per term.

Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) Scholarship

The Center for Japanese Studies sometimes is able to provide scholarships to students pursuing the study of the Japanese language abroad in Japan or at PSU.

Institute for Asian Studies Scholarship

The Institute for Asian Studies Student Scholarship is a competitive award of up to $1000 for one or two qualified, full-time, degree-seeking, PSU students, who are pursuing an academic program at Portland State, or abroad, with a focus on Asia and/or Asian language studies.

Lorry I. Lokey Endowed Fund for Israel Scholarship
When you choose Judaic Studies as your major or minor, you are eligible for an array of scholarships at Portland State University.

World Languages and Literature [WLL] Scholarships

The purpose of the scholarship is to support study in a term, semester or yearlong study abroad program with an explicit language component.
