International Video & Photo Contests

We welcome the submission of photos and videos from PSU students on PSU-sponsored Education Abroad programs.

International Video Contest

In 2016, PSU Education Abroad launched our first annual International Video Contest.  Our 2017 Video Contest will generate video entries from participants who are abroad during the 2016-17 academic year.  Entries should fit the following criteria:

  • Students can submit videos on an individual or group basic.  Groups may include no more than three students.
  • Videos in both categories may be up to three minutes in length.
  • The videos should either tell a story or teach us something!  This might be something about life in your study abroad location, or it could be a new skill or cultural experience that you've had.
  • Content must be original to the submitter.
  • Videos must not contain any copyrighted music.
  • Submissions should be sent to and should be in one of the following formats:  .mov, .m4v, mp4

Deadline to submit:  Friday, May 12, 2017

Prizes for the 2017 International Video Contest include the following:

2017 International Video Contest Winners

2nd place:  Mary Pantenburg

All videos can be found on our Facebook page, under our 2017 Video Contest Playlist.

2016 International Video Contest Winner

The winning video for the 2016 International Video Contest was submitted by Emma Frantz, who studied abroad for an academic year in Lyon, France on an IE3 Education Abroad program.  Emma won a $150 TravelEx Cash Passport, generously donated by TravelEx, located in Portland at 4th and SW Harrison.

International Photo Contest

Since 2004, PSU Education Abroad has hosted an International Photo Contest each fall.  With each year's submissions, we are pleased to see the increasing diversity of PSU student pathways.  The images our students share after engaging in an international experience are impressive. All of our international photo contest entries since 2004 can be found on our Flickr photostream.  Returning PSU students are invited by the PSU Education Abroad office to submit their photos each fall through posting images to the PSU Education Abroad Facebook page.  Winning photos are selected by the number of "likes" received.

Congratulations to our 2016 Education Abroad Photo Contest Winners!
