PSU Student Chapters Host "Disaster Preparation" Event

PSU student chapters of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute PSU, American Society of Civil Engineers PSU, and Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists PSU organized and hosted a Disaster Preparedness event Monday April 9th 2018 . About 240 people attended (PSU students/employees and general public). The event, in SMSU Ballroom, featured panelists included Dr. Franz Rad (PSU), Allison Pyrch (Hart Crowser), Emma Stocker (PSU), Jay Wilson (Resilience Coordinator, Clackamas County), Tim Collins (Portland Water Bureau), and Ed Quesenberry (Equilibrium Engreers LLC). The panelists, some featured in the OPB documentary "Unprepared", discussed Oregon's preparedness for the Cascadia earthquake and answered questions from the audience. The event concluded with an hour of tabling where different local agencies and seismic retrofit contractors presenting their work and products to attendees.
