12th Annual Pilipino Cultural Night: 

Saturday, April 22nd at 5:30pm in the Smith Ballroom

Mabuhay! We would like to invite you all to PSU Kaibigan- Filipino American Student Association's 12th Annual Pilipino Cultural Night! The show will consist of cultural performances including singing and dancing, as well as skits. This is a FREE event with FREE Filipino food! First come, first serve! Bring your friends and family and join us for a night filled with food, fun, and amazing performances! See you there! Our API Month Calendar will also be reviled on this day. 

Spring Rolls 4 Spring Term

Monday, May 1st from 4pm-6pm in the Native American Student & Community Center

Join the PIAAA programming team in the NASCC and learn how to make spring rolls during the spring term! Free for PSU Students and fun for everyone. Learn how to make spring rolls on your own and then share your talents with a friend. 

PIAAA Podcast

Thursday May 4th from 12pm-1pm in the Pacific Islander, Asian & Asian American Student Center

PIAAA is happy to announce the start of its Podcast which will record in the PIAAA center. This will be the first ever podcast out of the center and we are happy to share the stage with our Asian American Student Leaders on campus. Bring your lunch and be in community as we record infront of our community. Podcast will be shared on the PIAAA webpage and Facebook Page.

Territory: A Talk and Discussion with Lehua M. Taitano 

Tuesday, May 16th from 2:30-4:00pm in the Pacific Islander, Asian & Asian American Student Center

As a queer interdisciplinary artist, Taitano explores indigenous identity in the diaspora, the politics of neocolonial displacement, and the queering of physical and psychological spaces as an approach to cultural revitalization. She reads and discusses Chamoru poetry and her approach to Chamoru modern art practices. This event is hosted by the School of Art+Design, Queer Resource Center and the PIAAA Center. 

HD-API Conference: Hella Decolonized: Our Lives. Our Stories. Our Future

Thursday, May 18th from 3:00-9:00pm in Varies Centers around campus. 

The Half-Day Asian & Pacific Islander Conference will feature seven different talks/workshops with student/faculty/staff presenters. A dinner will be provided for those who register for the conference. See PIAAA for more information.  

Shield Games:

Date/Time: May 19th 2017

Friday May 18th, 2017. 2pm-9pm in the PSU Campus Rec Center

Join us in a friendly competition hosted by your very own PSU HKSA, PSU VSA, PSU Kaibigan, and PSU PIC! Wear your club shirts for the team you're playing for and show your pride! We will start off at the rec center at 2:00pm and play games until 7:00pm on Friday. Afterwards, food will be provided for everyone!

The games that will be played for this year is Box Race, Blind Volleyball, Capture the Flag and Ultimate Ball! 

Kapatid Summit:

Saturday  May 20th, 2017. 2pm-9pm SMSU 026

Spend your Saturday with Kaibigan, Portland State University’s Filipino American Student Association. Kapatid (which means mentor or older sibling in Tagalog), is an event for all high school students. The goal is to unite, empower and educate current Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander youth to continue on to higher education. Contact Kaibigan for more information.

Student Mixer: "ID" Please:

Saturday  May 24th, 2017. 4pm-6pm in the Pacific Islander, Asian & Asian American Student Center. 

“ID, Please!” is a social mixer that gives a chance for International and Domestic students to have fun. We will be having the event at PIAAA (Pacific Islander, Asian, and Asian American) Student Center. It will be on May 24th and the party will be from 4-6pm. Come join us for refreshments, new faces, games and PRIZES! Contact PIAAA for more information.

Come join us as three representatives from PSU Kaibigan - Filipino American Student Association bring back their experiences from a mission and integration trip in the Philippines. Experience the joys and struggles of silenced and marginalized communities in the Philippines such as fisherfolk, farmer, and indigenous Lumad people as we bring their stories to you through a presentation, cultural performances, and provided Filipino food!
