  • Biography: I grew up in Portland, Oregon and Houston, Texas. I have never attended the same school for more than 4 years during Kindergarten to 12th grade. My parents emigrated to the United States in 1973 from Hong Kong to ensure my siblings and I had more opportunities than they did. I had grand plans of being a world renowned journalist but discovered my passion is in higher education. I have been involved with promoting access in higher education for almost 20 years. One interesting thing about me is that I love dancing hula. "It is our choices that show who we truly are far more than our abilities."

  • Biography:I was born in the United States but I am of Philippine descent. My parents shipped me to live in the Philippines when I was five years old to live with my grandmother and three older sisters. There I learned to speak the language and immersed myself in the Philippine culture while getting to know the family I had never met. My higher education came later in life but I believe it is never too late since I am a proponent of life long learning. One interesting thing about me is that I love food & traveling outside the country. I try my best to travel internationally yearly and enjoy eating exotic cuisines, balut anyone?
