Rossina Soyan comes from the remote Tuvan village of Beldir-Aryg in Russia. She holds a specialist degree in Translation from Herzen State Pedagogical University, St. Petersburg, Russia, a Ph.D. (kandidat nauk) in Linguistics from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia, and is currently working on her master’s degree in TESOL at Portland State. Her research interests include English-Russian translation and preservation of endangered languages. Rossina has been teaching English since 2010. She first started teaching Russian as a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant at Brandeis University, and then joined the Russian Flagship Program at Portland State. She is currently teaching Globalization, part of the Advanced Flagship Track.
