Friday, May 1, 2020 - 11:30am to Friday, May 1, 2020 - 1:00pm

Our featured speaker, Kuʻulei Perreira-Keawekane, is a Native Hawaiian artist, activist, and influencer from the Hawaiian homes community of Panaʻewa, Hawaiʻi Island. The purpose of this session is to promote holistic healing and wellness by encouraging decolonized perspectives on spirituality. This 90-minute webinar includes a brief history of the evolution of Hawaiian religion from Polytheism to Christianity. Discussion will include interpretations of akua Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian deities like Pele, Lono, Laka, Kāne, etc.), deeper connections to simple Hawaiian words and phrases, and a narrative that ties each of these concepts together.
