Ryan Lee has served in the police profession since 2000 holding positions at line, supervisory, and command ranks. He’s a national subject matter expert in policing large-scale events and has done overseas research related to this topic for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). He continues to work with NIJ, serving on a Special Technical Committee helping to develop training and personal protective equipment standards.

Mr. Lee’s career has focused on police leadership, ethics and community engagement and inclusion. He is an ardent proponent of inter-agency cooperation and standardization. He also has background in homeland security, terrorism and intelligence. When time permits, he assists as an instructor at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Mr. Lee is a veteran of the Coast Guard and holds a Master of Criminal Justice degree from Boston University.
