Chris Owen is the Chief Deputy District Attorney for the Clackamas County DA's Office. He has spent his entire legal career as a prosecutor, starting with the Coos County Oregon District Attorney's Office in 1993, where he focused on domestic violence and child abuse prosecution. He has been with the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office since 1996. Prior to being named Chief Deputy, he specialized in prosecuting sexual assaults, child abuse, homicides and other violent felonies. Chris also spent seven years supervising the felony property, drug and major vehicular crime unit.

Chris frequently presents to law enforcement organizations concerning effective investigations and courtroom advocacy in criminal cases. For CCJ, he teaches courses related to criminal law and the legal system.
