Danielle McGurrin, Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty, was presented with a volunteer service award by Christine Popoff, assistant superintendent of Correctional Rehabilitation, at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility's quarterly awards reception this past summer. During the recognition ceremony, Popoff discussed CCCF and PSU CCJ's longstanding community partnership, the significance that the Domestic Violence course has had on the women (inmates) who have completed the course, and the appreciation for our collaboration under a new program home. When higher education programming at CCCF was unable to continue under PCC's Education and Workforce Development contract, McGurrin solicited Popoff to consider "adopting" PSU courses. The Domestic Violence course became the first course housed under Correctional Rehabilitation programming.
