Shooting Investigation-No Injuries

On Tuesday October 10, 2017, at 1:32 p.m., Central Precinct and Portland State University Campus Police Officers responded to the report of a gunshot in the 1300 block of Southwest 11th Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene and contacted several witnesses. As officers interviewed the witnesses, they learned a white four door vehicle had struck a pedestrian as the pedestrian crossed Southwest 10th Avenue south of Southwest Mill Street. According to witnesses, shortly after being struck by the white sedan the pedestrian fired one gunshot at the involved vehicle.

After firing the gun, the pedestrian entered a red four door sedan and the red sedan proceeded in the same direction as the white sedan.

Officers did not locate anyone with injuries from this crash and shooting. No suspects were located as a result of an area check performed after the shooting.

Evidence of gunfire was located and seized at the scene.

The Portland Police Bureau Gun Task Force will continue this investigation.
