UPDATE! - Male with gun near Parking Structure 3
10:34am - On Monday June 11, 2012 at approximately 10:20 a.m. Portland Police Bureau responded to a PSU Campus Public Safety call for assistance in responding to suspect who drew and pointed a gun at a CPSO Officer in the vicinity of campus (the area of 12th and SW Market. The suspect fled the area on foot and the PPB Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) was called to the scene to manage the tactical operation.
Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic has been shutdown in the area, and so there will be disruption to traffic until the suspect is in custody.
In addition, the Helen Gordon Child Development Center located at 1609 SW 12th has locked down its facility, and the children inside are all safe. There are police officers inside the daycare with staff and children and officers will remain at the daycare until this incident is resolved. Other facilities in the area, including Lincoln and St Mary's High Schools have also locked down their facilities.
The following is a description of the suspect in question:
50’s, with grey beard, last seen wearing a dark jacket, rust colored plaid shirt over a green t-shirt, black shoes, grey baseball cap, Northface backpack, and a gym bag.

UPDATE!: 2:03pm - Parking Structure 3 has been cleared. Suspect is still at large. Campus operations, including academic finals remain on schedule.
