Update Statement on library incident

PSU Campus Public Safety Office is continuing to search for a suspect who assaulted a PSU student at the Branford Price Millar Library on Nov. 7. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, between 5'7'' and 5'10" tall, who was wearing a black beanie, black jacket and blue jeans. He has acne scars on his face.

The student reported that the suspect -- who she did not know -- physically assaulted her and threatened her with a gun. The student called 911 around 7 p.m. No gun was seen. PSU Campus Public Safety officers and Portland police responded by searching the library for the suspect who was not located. The library was cleared around 7:45 p.m. and resumed normal operations.

The Campus Public Safety Office is leading the investigation. Authorities are reviewing video surveillance footage from the library. Anyone with information is asked to contact CPSO at 503-725-4407.


Original Timely Warning

On Nov. 7 at approximately 7 p.m., a PSU student in Millar Library reported that an individual was acting aggressively towards her and told her he had a gun. The student then call 911. No gun was seen.

PSU Campus Public Safety officers and Portland police responded by searching the library for the individual who was not located. During the search, students were asked to shelter in place. The person of interest is described as a white male in his 20s, between 5'7'' and 5'10", who was wearing a black beanie, black jacket and blue jeans. He has acne scars on his face.

All campus buildings are in normal operations.
