How to Test

  • Any PSU employee can pick up at home test kits from PSU Human Resources at the Richard & Maurine Neuberger Center, 1600 SW 4th Ave, Suite 518.
    • Show your PSU ID.
    • Two boxes (four tests) per employee per week, as supplies last.
  • Curative offers rapid PCR and rapid antigen testing at their mobile testing site located just south of Shattuck Hall.
    • Appointments are suggested but not required. Check the Curative website for more information.
  • COVID Clinic offers immediate access to free, confidential Rapid Antigen COVID-19 tests for employees.
  • At-home test kits via PSU health insurance.
    • Employees participating in a PSU health insurance plan — including Providence, Kaiser Permanente or Moda — can pick up home test kits at no cost from pharmacies or be reimbursed for their purchase.

When to Test

Try to get tested if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you have recently been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, whether or not you’ve been vaccinated. If you are getting tested because you had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, it’s best to get tested 5 days after you were together. The test may not work if you get tested too soon.

If You Test Positive

If you test positive, begin a five-day isolation period from the date you took the test or the date of your first symptoms. A negative test is not required to return to campus. Learn more about quarantine and isolation protocols.
