Chinese Language and Culture Classes

Dear Community,

Please be kindly noticed that we will use Zoom as the tool to teach remotely for the summer term. Please do the following steps to join our class meetings:

1. Download Zoom ( on your devices and get familiar with it before class.

2. Refer to the Schedules of Classes to find your instructor and date & time of your class.

You are free to audit any class for the first week of the spring term, but you are required to register and pay BEFORE the second meeting of the class and ONLY registered students will be admitted into the meeting room then.

For Summer Term, we only accept online registration. Please go to the above two links and click “Register & pay online” which is in the last column of the table of class schedule.

If you are senior citizens or PSU faculty/staff, please fill out the Registration Form and send it to us via email ( with a copy of your Driver's license or PSU ID.

For music classes, please email your music instructor to make an appointment for the first meeting:

Non-credit Chinese Language & Culture Courses

The Confucius Institute at PSU offers a wide range of Chinese language and culture classes for individuals, international travelers, business leaders, company employees and K-12 youth. 

  • Classes meet once a week for 10 weeks during the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms.

  • During Summer Term, classes meet once a week for 8 weeks.

  • Senior citizens age 65+ can enroll in CI non-credit classes FREE of charge. Register via the paper registration form and submit a copy of your driver's license or other official ID that documents your date of birth.

  • PSU Faculty & Staff can enroll in CI non-credit classes FREE of charge.  PSU Faculty & Staff should register via the paper registration form.

  • For youth, parents can audit and stay in the classroom for the first class meeting only.

  • Textbooks are not included in tuition. Students are required to buy their own textbooks (e.g. on Amazon).
