LEED GOLD 2018 - Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design

LEED Gold Certification 

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.

PSU is one of only 5 Platinum Level Bicycle Friendly Universities in the US, as awarded by the League of American Bicyclists. PSU is home to the Transportation Research and Education Center, which in turn is host for the National Institute for Transportation and Communities and the Institute for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation.

PSU Eats

Food is sourced locally, regionally and seasonally

  • Every week, over 300 pounds of food is donated to the PSU Food Pantry to support students.
  • 100 pounds of food is donated each week to the Blanchett House, a local Portland shelter.
  • Food waste is tracked and composted.
  • Menus feature seasonal fruit and vegetables grown by the PSU Learning Garden Laboratory.
