Public Transit:
Located at the heart of TriMet’s regional transit system, many use public transit to reach PSU than any other mode of transportation. With limited parking in downtown area, arriving by transit is highly recommended. Use TriMet’s trip planner to plan your route by TriMet’s MAX line, streetcar, or bus.

As one of the biggest bicycle cities in the United States, PSU offers a bike friendly environment with thousands of bike racks throughout campus. PSU is also integrated with Portland’s new bike share system BIKETOWN that offers publicly available bikes for quick and convenient trips. For those traveling longer distances, note that TriMet is well-equipped to accommodate bicycles.

Parking is limited in the downtown area and all on-street parking is metered. Hourly parking areas are provided in various locations throughout campus, with the 4th Avenue Garage being the closest to the CS Department. From the 4th Avenue Garage, take the elevator to the Plaza level and head north to reach the Computer Science Department at Suite 120.

The MAX Red Line light rail runs about every 15 minutes from the Portland International Airport to downtown Portland. Take the MAX Red line to Pioneer Square station, then transfer to the MAX station on 5th Ave. Both the Green and Yellow line will take you to PSU. Taxi rides to PSU are about $35-$40.

Portland Union Station is served by three scheduled Amtrak intercity passenger trains. It’s a short MAX ride down the transit mall to PSU campus.
