New Beginnings: Reboot Your Career

Complete the prerequisites to enter PSU's Computer Science or OHSU's Bioinformatics & Computational Biology masters degree programs in only nine months!

IMPORTANT changes for New Beginnings starting 2017-18! We have recently teamed up with OHSU and redesigned New Beginnings.

Many computing professionals bring a background in another field to their work. New Beginnings is designed to prepare high-achieving post-baccalaureate students with diverse educational backgrounds for graduate study in Computer Science or Biomedical Informatics.

New Beginnings uses a cohort-based, integrative, immersive format.  In the new model, the first two terms will continue to focus on building the knowledge of programming and theory.  During the third term, students will have the choice to pursue preparation for PSU's Computer Science or OHSU's Biomedical Informatics graduate degrees. It is a full-time program that combines lecture and laboratory work, and requires students to be on campus five days a week.  Upon successful completion of New Beginnings, students will begin their graduate program with PSU in Computer Science or with OHSU in Biomedical Informatics.

To begin the application process please submit an inquiry. A graduate advisor will touch base to provide more information and admissions support.

Applications will open January 1st.  The priority deadline is March 1st.  To be considered complete, applications must include undergraduate transcripts and GRE scores.

Applications will be accepted until all slots are filled.
