Marek Elzanowski, Mathematics emeritus faculty, co-organized the mini-symposium “Geometrical Aspects of Defects in Solids” as a part of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Conference on Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science, held at the Oregon Convention Center, July 9-13. He also gave the talk, “The Canonical Connection on a Homogeneous Space as a Measure of Lattice Defectiveness.”
