Jessica Columbo After nearly a decade in PR, broadcast television, and integrated marketing, Jess Columbo founded Med|Ed Digital, a Portland-based consulting firm, specializing in social media strategy and staff training.

 

Before starting her firm, Jess worked agency- and client-side, creating award-winning digital programs for regional and national clientele, like Widmer Brewing, Live Wire Radio, Pacific Natural Foods, Oregon Health & Science University, and Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Self-described writer and geek, Jess is passionate about the intersection of community, content, and data. She frequently speaks and lectures on the topics of social storytelling and crisis management. Jess sits on the board of the Healthcare Communicators of Oregon.

Siouxsie Jennett is the founder and president of Portland-based Mambo Media, an integrated marketing agency that helps companies build brand, establish thought leadership, and develop marketing strategies that drive revenue. An award-winning pioneer in the world of online marketing, Siouxsie has immersed herself in interactive marketing and cutting-edge trends like social media for the past 15 years. Her proven methodologies and best practices in social media marketing are well respected in the industry and heralded as groundbreaking by clients and colleagues alike. She specializes in launch campaigns and building online businesses quickly, and has created innovative, revenue‐based media programs for brands including Dell, Nokia, HP, McDonalds, Chevron, and Infiniti. Ms. Jennett holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a graduate degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
 

Janet Johnson is President of O’Johnson Partners, providing outsourced marketing services, interim marketing leadership help, social media and search strategies, inbound lead generation, and marketing automation readiness programs for B2B and B2C businesses.

Janet has been a marketer for technologists and a technologist for marketers for many years. She’s run global marketing organizations for Enron and Merant (now Serena Software), and led business development efforts for PacTel InfoSystems and Apple. She was a pioneer in business blogging, having started an ethical debate online in 2005 that resulted in more than 200 pieces of press in Forbes, Business Week, MIT’s Technology Review, and a case study in the Annenburg School of Journalism for her CRM startup, Marqui.

Janet co-authored a blog that was recognized by Business Week twice as one of the Top 10 Business Blogs in the country. She wrote early curriculum that was adopted by the Arizona State School of Journalism on Blogging for Business; regularly teaches classes on LinkedIn at PSU’s CEPE, and she has managed more than 20 PR agencies in her career.

Anne Ely Kenlon Portland State University Center for Executive and Professional Education Business Communications Certificate CEPE Anne Ely Kenlon is a senior-level writer and communications manager with 35 years of experience across a broad variety of business disciplines. As a seasoned strategist and counsel to senior leaders at three Fortune 500 companies, she has written executive speeches, video scripts, opinion columns, and media pitches. Her main focus has been on employee communications and translating complex technical and financial information into understandable terms. She recently relocated to Portland from Corning, N.Y., where she managed the employee global news program for Corning Incorporated and maintained a reader satisfaction rate of more than 95%. She holds bachelor's degrees in English and journalism from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa and a master's degree in Management and Administrative Science from the University of Texas - Dallas.
Lilian Tsai Culture and Business Communication Business Communications Portland State Univeristy Center for Executive and Professional Education Lillian A. Tsai has been working with a plethora of organizations from government, non-profit to global corporations on cross-cultural competency and communications, and diversity & inclusion (D&I) since 2005. This includes: 
  • Assessments and gap analysis of organizational effectiveness as it relates to cultural competence and/or diversity/inclusion. 
  • Making recommendations for and the implementation of strategic Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and/or diversity & inclusion councils.
  • Design and facilitation of cross-cultural communications, cultural competence or diversity and inclusion training programs across departments and within teams (team interventions).
  • Keynote speaker on topics related to diverse workforce, global communications and/or cultural competence.

 Tonia McConnell Communication for Leaders Business Communications Portland State Univeristy Center for Executive and Professional Education Tonia Twigger, MA, is principal of Tonia McConnell & Associates, a cooperative consulting group specializing in team development, training, and leading change. She holds an MS in instructional technology and is a certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator facilitator. She has 20-plus years of instructional and program design experience in public and private sectors. With Paul Spindel, Ms. Twigger teaches “Creating the Life You Want” workshops.
