CEPE's Athletic and Outdoor Product Management Certificate Program

As popularity and demand grow in outdoor technical apparel and merchandise, highly skilled product managers are needed to fill local and international outdoor industry jobs.

There’s no better place to get your Athletic and Outdoor education than in Portland, Oregon, the home of some of the world’s most successful athletic and outdoor apparel companies: Nike, Adidas, Columbia, and KEEN. In fact, Oregon employs more than 14,000 professionals in the outdoor recreation industry.

Portland State University's innovative Athletic and Outdoor Product Management program can help you break into or advance your career in the industry by focusing on the skills necessary to thrive in this competitive marketplace, from product planning, strategy, and sourcing to branding, retail metrics, sustainability, and merchandising-whether your focus be on outdoor clothing, footwear, or tools.

Our instructors include Jennifer Nolfi (PSU), Mitch Menendez and Matt Bolte (Nike), Will Sandman (Avery Dennison), and Jordan Delapoer (North), and each course features a diverse array of guest speakers, and previously they have included presenters from Nike, adidas, Columbia Sportswear, Gerber Gear, Wieden+Kennedy, SOREL, and Facebook.
