Portland, OR – The Portland State Student Ambassadors will host a “PSU Night” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Oregon Historical Society, 1200 SW Park Avenue. The “PSU Night” event will be open to all PSU students, staff, and faculty. The purpose of the collaboration is twofold: to raise awareness of the numerous resources available through the Society and to foster a partnership between the two neighboring institutions.
The free “PSU Night” will feature light refreshments, museum tours, and entertainment from the PSU Jazz Ensemble. The event will showcase Oregon Historical Society’s latest exhibit, Oregon Rocks, which celebrates the vibrant story of Oregon’s rock and roll heritage. This unique exhibit displays Oregon’s role in national musical movements past and present. The exhibit is scheduled to run through Jan. 15, 2012.
"Given that OHS and PSU are only blocks apart, it's fitting that the two great institutions should forge new partnerships,” said Oregon Historical Society Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk. “Given that all Multnomah County residents now have free admission to our museum and world-class research library, there is no better time than now for PSU students to visit us.”
