Prospective Students

Civil and environmental engineers are stewards of the built and natural environment.

Our accomplished faculty,state-of-the-art laboratories, and urban location make Portland State University a great place to begin or continue your education in civil and environmental engineering.

Our graduate program in Civil and Environmental Engineering includes a coursework-only based MEng program for working professionals as well as the research-based MS and PhD programs.

We offer ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in both Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Our program is diverse with 29% women, 25% minority and under-represented students, 23% international students and nearly 45% first generation college students. Our average age of undergraduate students is 26 and we support many second-degree seeking students. This diversity is a key strength of our program. Our students excel on the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, a nationally administered exam required for professional engineering licensure. Over all PSU-enrolled students taking the exam from 2006-2015, our students pass at rates well above the national average.  See more at our "CEE By the Numbers 2015-2016" summary:
