Posted: April 18, 2014

Friday, April 18, 5:30-7 p.m.
PSU Women's Resource Center
1802 SW 10th & Montgomery
(Montgomery Hall Basement)

The April workshop is dedicated to the open mic. This is an opportunity to read new projects you are working on, share zine writings, spoken word, poetry, etc.

Guest speaker is floetress/creator of Solar Throat--Jamondria Harris

"Solar Throat is a nascent monthly performance series at Habesha that leans toward the experimental and centers (but not exclusively) poetics, music, and dance that could be loosely termed as 'afro-futuristic/afro-surreal'. the event will have featured performers & will encourage improvisational collaboration, ecstatic readings, and spontaneous dance parties. It will also have a sign-up option as well; the space will be a sort of experimental performance/spoken word/music open mic/collaboration laboratory after the featured performances. This space will be all about the promiscuity of active & full minds."

*The workshops are open to those who self-identify/live everyday experiences as a woman of color*
