In June 2013, Faculty Senate approved the creation of the Office of Academic Innovation (OAI) following an extensive consultation process with faculty and staff across the institution. The new office replaces the Center for Academic Excellence and the Center for Online Learning.

The Office of Academic Innovation provides leadership and support for campus activities that explore and promote excellence in teaching and learning, innovative curricular technology use, and community based learning.  We support campus initiatives that respond to changing curricular and educational delivery models, improve student success, and value the importance of teaching, learning and assessment.

Curious? Come take a look at what we are building.

The Office of Academic Innovation is located in the heart of campus on the second floor mezzanine of Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU 209M). In addition to office space, the location offers areas where faculty can work in groups and, beginning early fall 2013, in media labs with support from OAI staff.

We encourage you to come and visit the new space and share your ideas with us. This summer we are hosting several casual 'mini' open house events.
