Dr. Vicki Wise, Director of Assessment and Research at Portland State University, is involved in the ACPA Commission for Assessment and Evaluation which will be recognized for the excellence in programming and professional development as well as their excellence in research and scholarship at the upcoming ACPA 2014 Annual Convention Awards Reception in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, March 30th. Annually, hundreds of individuals are recognized through the ACPA Awards Program for significant achievements and contributions to the higher education community, the student affairs profession and to ACPA, its commissions, state and international divisions and standing committees.

The Commission for Assessment works to fulfill a dual mission. The first is to provide assessment tools, resources, and education for those new to assessment. The second is to provide a professional community and "home" for professionals who have all or a portion of their position dedicated to assessment. The work is carried out through our amazing volunteers who serve on the Directorate Board or volunteer throughout the year for various projects.

The Directorate Board is made up of a variety of people all who are dedicated to helping us accomplish our mission. Each year the Directorate board develops teams, sets goals for each team and members work year-round to accomplish their goals. This year's goals include having fun, developing educational sessions targeted at new and mid-level professionals, developing on-line tools and resources, providing educational sessions at Convention and solidifying communications plans.

The Commission will be awarded the following two awards at the upcoming ACPA Reception:

  • Commission Award - Excellence in Programming and Professional Development Award
  • Commission Excellence in Research and Scholarship
