School of Art + Design alumni Greg Fisk graduated in 2011 with a degree in Graphic Design. This coming spring he is set to earn an MFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institue College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore. Since departing from PSU he has worked as an Art Director with a focus on branding, illustration, typography and designing digital experience for firms like Portland’s Murmur Creative, and as a freelance designer.

For the past seven years, Greg has made the Baltimore and Washington DC area his home. Since 2017 he has served as Designer-in-Chief at the Smithsonian Institution. There, a recent challenge was to update the Smithsonian brand, including a co-branding initiative with the Smithsonian’s many institutions. While the changes are subtle, he states it was no small task. He was able to successfully adapt the familiar brand, designed decades ago, into a more flexible identity that will be useable for years to come.
