An introduction to freehand drawing focused on the delineation of both interior and exterior space, starting with direct observation through to conceptual drawings of imagination. Use of different media and color including the study of light and light qualities. One of the most challenging steps in architecture design(and art) is taking an idea from one's imagination and putting it into an understandable form for the audience. The goal of this course is to introduce students to multiple drawing and painting methods that will allow for effective communication of the students; vision and ideas on paper with manual techniques. The course introduces basic concepts: perspective, proportion, light and shade, reflection and transparency, color theory and many other perceptions and drawing aspects. The course also demonstrates that knowledge acquired in one visual technique can be applied to a plethora of other techniques in future student’s projects.
