ART PRACTICE AND GRAPHIC DESIGN SCHOLARSHIPS

ELIGIBILITY

Scholarships awarded to Art Practice and Graphic Design undergraduates, MFA Studio and MFA Social Practice graduate students. Undergraduate students must have completed at least 20 credit hours in their major and all students must have at least 6 credit hours remaining before graduation. Awards are based on financial need, first-generation college student status, enrollment status, creative work and accomplishments in area/s of study in the School of A+D.

AWARDS

Awards will be put toward tuition fees. Amounts vary. Your application to the university scholarship portal ensures that you will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Set up an account and apply through the university scholarship portal.

2. Create a PDF with 3-5 images of your work to attach in the Scholarship Application Portal. 

3. Copy and paste the link to your Flickr photoset in the university scholarship portal application.

 

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

Artists

Create a PDF photo set containing three to five examples of your work. This portfolio must consist of three to five works, preferably in the student’s area(s) of concentration. In addition to image files, videos/animations should be hyperlinked in the PDF. The committee will review up to five minutes of time-based work. 

Graphic Designers

Create a PDF set containing three to five examples of your work. Videos/animations may also be uploaded as a hyperlink to  The committee will review up to five minutes of time-based work.

ART HISTORY SCHOLARSHIPS

Robert and Normandie Holmes Endowed Travel Fellowship

Provides an Art History student with a travel stipend for the purpose of engaging in academic research related to art history.

Mary Ausplund Tooze Scholar Travel Award Endowment

Encourages travel needed to engage in field study and research in Ancient and Islamic Art. It is open to juniors, seniors and graduate students from all majors.

Catherine Kumlin & Robert Gamblin Endowed Art Practice Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship benefits an undergraduate or graduate Art Practice student who wants to participate in a PSU School of Art + Design study abroad program that includes Art Practice credit.

Art History Term Paper Prizes

Excellence in research and writing is rewarded with cash prizes to students who produce outstanding term papers or class projects.
