Scholarships in the College of the Arts

 

Most students are eligible for one or more scholarships offered at PSU. The College of the Arts manages over 60 scholarships specifically for students in Architecture, Art + Design, Film, and Music & Theater programs. To be considered for scholarships, you must complete the FAFSA*. Many scholarships at PSU require completion of the appropriate online PSU Scholarship Application:

Incoming Freshman Application

·August 1, 2017: Incoming freshman scholarship application opens.

·December 1, 2017 at 11:59pm PSTDeadline! Your application must be complete to be considered.

 

Continuing and Transferring Student Application

If you're already a PSU student, or are transferring to PSU. 

·October 1, 2017Continuing and transfer scholarship application opens.

Graduate Student Application

·October 1, 2017: Graduate scholarship application opens.

ELIGIBILITY

Scholarships awarded to Art Practices and Graphic Design undergraduates, MFA Studio and MFA Social Practice graduate students. Undergraduate students must have completed at least 20 credit hours in their major and all students must have at least 6 credit hours remaining before graduation. Awards are based on financial need, first-generation college student status, enrollment status, creative work and accomplishments in area/s of study in the School of A+D.

AWARDS

Awards will be put toward tuition fees. Amounts vary. Your application to the university scholarship portal ensures that you will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Set up an account and apply through the university scholarship portal.

2. Create a PDF with 3-5 images of your work to attach in the Scholarship Application Portal. 

3. Copy and paste the link to your Flickr photo set in university scholarship portal application.

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

Artists

Create a PDF photo set containing three to five examples of your work. This portfolio must consist of three to five works, preferably in the student’s area(s) of concentration. In addition to image files, videos/animations should be hyperlinked in the PDF. The committee will review up to five minutes of time-based work. 

Graphic Designers

Create a PDF set containing three to five examples of your work. Videos/animations may also be uploaded as a hyperlink to  The committee will review up to five minutes of time-based work.

ART HISTORY PRIZES, AWARDS, AND FELLOWSHIPS

ELIGIBILITY

Scholarships awarded to art history students who have completed at least 20 credits in their major and have at least 6 credit hours remaining before graduation. Awards are based on financial need, first-generation college student status, enrollment status, and accomplishments in area/s of study in the School of Art + Design.

ART HISTORY TRAVEL AWARDS

ROBERT AND NORMANDIE HOLMES ENDOWED TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP

Provides an Art History student with a travel stipend for the purpose of engaging in academic research related to art history.
