Topics will include: The entities involved in the licensure process How to progress successfully through the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®) Brief overview of the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) Recent changes to NCARB programs The value of the NCARB Certificate  The presentation will also cover tips to making a successful transition from school to work and pursuing licensure once employed. Following the presentation there will be a question and answer session. About the Presenter Before joining NCARB as the Assistant Vice President for Experience + Education, Jeremy worked as a designer and project architect for 22 years at various firms in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. Jeremy is passionate about helping architects and the architectural profession become their best through excellence in education, training, and management practices. Jeremy received his B. Arch. from Ball State University and M.A. in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University. He is a registered architect in Virginia and Indiana, and has extensive volunteer leadership experience. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity. This event will be held via Zoom. Ironically, collage might be the most liberating creative medium. Despite being founded on a process of gathering image material already wrapped up in a context, previously spent, so to speak, in contributing to former intentions of which the collage-maker played no part, it nevertheless demands an intuitive, extemporary practice. Therein lies its potency in reconfiguring fragments of an existing world - already underway, already connected to fields of meaning that animate our shared human lifeworld - into new gestures, innovations drawn out of familiar terrain. In upcycling the residuum of everyday life, each collage aims to reinvigorate our engagement with mundane existence by means of metaphoric shift, analogical projection, seeing something as something it is not, recognizing similarity in difference, jogging us out of a preconceived understanding of the way things are, towards a vision of how things could be. This presentation will gather up a selection of the hundreds of new works on paper that emerged throughout Clive's year-long sabbatical (Sept 2019 to Sept 2020) and will attempt to make some sense out of them.
