Anthropology Professor Dr. Jeremy Spoon completes National Disaster Recovery Workshop in Nepal

A national workshop to return earthquake recovery research has just been completed. Led by Dr. Jeremy Spoon, the workshop was attended by more than 75 representatives from the rural governments in our study areas, international and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs and INGOs) and applied academics. Representation from international organizations included UNDP, USAID, Save the Children, Action Aid, Asia Foundation, Samaritans Purse, and many more. Each rural municipality and ward representative had the opportunity to tell their own stories. Project participants shared results and comments in both English and Nepali. The goal was for the information exchange to shape policy and reconstruction programs. The project plans to produce bi-lingual workshop notes for participants and other interested parties.
