Completing online orientation is just one step toward preparing for a successful first term at Portland State. Resource Centers and PSU staff from across campus will be hosting virtual opportunities to connect before your first term.

Participation in the programs below does not take the place of completing online orientation. Instead, the information shared during these sessions is designed to complement the information included in your orientation. You do not have to already have completed your online orientation to take part in any of the programs below.

Welcome To PSU Webinar


Join PSU’s Academic Advising team during this optional webinar on Wednesday, March 10th from 10am to 10:30am PST. Meet the advising staff and learn about PSU’s advising pathways. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about how your advisor can best support you during your time as a PSU student. Family members or those supporting new PSU students are also invited to attend. Unable to attend at this time? This webinar will be recorded and available to view here following the event.  

Pre-registration is required. A calendar event containing the Welcome Webinar zoom link will be sent to your @pdx.edu address after submitting the pre-registration form. 
 


Virtual Registration Labs


Once you have finished online orientation, you’ll have access to register for your first term courses. However, you may still have questions about your degree map and selecting courses. Academic advisors and student Orientation Leaders are ready to assist during any of the drop-in Virtual Registration Lab dates, listed below:

  • Wednesday, March 10th: 3 pm - 5 pm PST
  • Friday, March 12th: 12 pm - 2 pm PST
  • Monday, March 15th: 10 am - 12 pm PST
  • Wednesday, March 17th: 4 pm - 6 pm PST
  • Friday, March 19th: 12 pm - 2 pm PST
  • Friday, March 25th: 10 am - 12 pm PST

Pre-registration is required. A calendar event containing the Virtual Registration Lab zoom link will be sent to your @pdx.edu address after submitting the pre-registration form. 

Additional Quick Drop-in Advising!


The Transfer & Returning Student Resource Center offers quick drop-in advising weekly on Thursdays from 3 pm - 4pm. Visit the Transfer Advising site for more information.


Resource Center Webinars

Connect with the campus resources most important to you! Before the start of the term, we’re hosting virtual meetings for new students in partnership with PSU’s Resource Centers.  Join us to learn more about  each center’s offerings for students, and how you can get involved. 


Pre-registration is required. The Zoom link and password will be sent to your @pdx.edu email address 24 hours prior to your Resource Center webinar.

Welcome to the Campus Rec community! As a PSU student, you are automatically a Campus Rec member. Come learn about our virtual and in-person programs, activities, and events. Are you a student with children? Did you know that more than 20 percent of your fellow students currently attending Portland State University also have children? The Student Parent Orientation, presented by the Resource Center for Students with Children, is a great opportunity to hear about the resources, programs, events, and services available to assist and support student parents at PSU. Whether you recently enrolled, or plan to enroll soon, this orientation is a great opportunity to help ensure a successful transition.

Student Leadership at Portland State - 4:00 pm

There are countless ways to find your community on campus.  This session will go over ways that you can find events to go to, get involved with groups and activities, and explore leadership opportunities that speak to your interests and goals.

Learn about a new opportunity to connect with transfer and returning students with the Transfer and Returning Student Center's (TRSC) Peer Connection Network (PCN). PCN is a program launching in 2021 that aims to help transfer and returning students connect to peers and resources on campus! Once you've completed Orientation and registered for classes, you have a few more tasks to take care of before our first term at PSU, including the completion of your math placement exam, reviewing your health insurance options, and submissions of final transcripts.
