Say hello to Canvas! Join OAI for an introduction to the new Learning Management System at PSU, coming winter 2022. During a series of information sessions this spring, we will get to know Canvas's new features, see what example classes could look like, and discuss the timeline for migration from D2L to Canvas. Whether you're new to Canvas or have taught in it before, there will be something to learn for everyone. Bring your questions and curiosity, and join us at the next information session.

Also, if I wanted to take my D2L course and copy it onto Canvas myself, how can I do this? We will also cover how to download data that students have put into a D2L course for my personal records (specifically: the Student Grades, Assignment submissions, Quiz submissions, and Discussion postings). Add to my Calendar 2021-07-19 07:00:00 2021-06-17 12:18:37 Canvas Consortium: Teaching for Student Success Register Canvas is coming to PSU, which means that you will have so many new options and pedagogical flexibility as an instructor. No one knows this better than the PSU faculty who have been piloting Canvas this year, and now they are ready to share what they have learned! Join the Canvas Consortium to learn to design courses and teach confidently in this new learning environment. Alongside PSU teaching colleagues, you will get the chance to: Review Canvas course assets and examples from a range of disciplines and contexts Design consistent weekly module organizational structure in Canvas Evaluate Canvas course assets for accessibility Design peer-to-peer Canvas learning experiences to meet instructional goals Consider Canvas-facilitated assessment practices to support student learning Explore digital design strategies informed by universal design for learning, trauma-informed practice, and culturally sustaining pedagogies  Whether you have been teaching online or blended courses regularly or have been using D2L to support in-person learning, this group is for you. The Canvas Consortium is fully online, asynchronous, and runs for 2 weeks with structured online activities and staggered due dates. It will take place in Canvas with no required meetings. We will hold optional weekly Zoom meetings for those who would like synchronous connection.  You can expect to spend approximately 5 hours participating each week.  The Canvas Consortium is a paid assignment reporting to the Office of Academic Innovation. It will require meeting certain criteria and milestone goals as part of participation in the overall assignment agreement. We anticipate this assignment will be no more than a total of 10 hours at the rate of $25.25 per hour. Actual agreement terms and conditions will be reviewed and shared with you through email and Banweb notifications prior to the start date of your cohort. Registration for all cohorts is open from May 10th to June 21st, 2021. Please select one cohort to join. Remote Office of Academic Innovation Office of Academic Innovation America/Los_Angeles public
