The Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring takes place at Portland State University (PSU) in Portland, Oregon. PSU is located in downtown Portland. The event venue on the PSU campus is the Donna Beagle Classroom in the School of Social Work, on the Sixth Floor of the Academic and Student Recreational Center (ASRC), 1800 SW 6th Ave. Portland, OR 97201.

Where to Stay

>>Hotel Modera

A full-service hotel adjacent the PSU campus. Participants in the Summer Institute are eleigible for a reduced rate of $149/night + tax (12.5% in Portland). Reservations can be made at (877) 484-1084. This popular hotel fills early for summer, so book your room as soon as possible.

>>University Place Hotel

Adjacent to the PSU campus. Participants in the Summer Institute are eligible for a reduced conference rate of $85/night for a King or Double room. Reservations can be made at (503) 221-0140 or 1-866-845-4647. Say that you are attending the "Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring" to recieve the conference rate.

>>Campus Housing

Dorm rooms on campus are available during the summer. A room with 2 twin beds, private bathroom, coffee pot, linens, etc. is $40/night. Rooms with a refrigerator are $50/night. (503) 725-4336; shc@pdx.edu

Portland Hotels

PSU is at the southern end of the downtown district on MAX and streetcar lines so several hotels are very conveniently located nearby.

 


Ground Transportation

General

PSU is well served by buses and streetcars that make it easy to visit interesting parts of the city for dining, shopping, sight-seeing, etc. Information about travel to the PSU campus and around town can be found on the PSU website.

Airport shuttle/taxi

PSU is located approximately 20-30 minutes by car from the Portland Airport (PDX). Shuttles (which are approximately $15-20 one way) are also available. >> More Information
