Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring Scholarships
Tuition for the full-week institute is $725 and participants recieve 30 C.E.U.s (continuing education credits from the PSU School of Social Work). We have several scholarship programs and individuals may apply by filling out the Scholarship Request form below. Only partial scholarships are available, and the amount awarded is subject to availability of funds and number of requests. We do not provide support for travel or expenses. Please read the description of the 2012 scholarship programs and the instructions carefully before requesting a scholarship by filling out the Request Form.
2012 Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring Scholarship Programs:
1. The Oregon Leaders Program
The Oregon Leaders Program is sponsored by the Oregon Community Foundation and Oregon Mentors and provides a special opportunity for experienced mentoring professionals from programs operating in the state of Oregon to attend the institute and make meaningful and productive connections with the research fellows. All applicants from Oregon programs are automatically considered for the Oregon Leaders program. Up to five applicants from the state of Oregon who are admitted to attend the Summer Institute will be designated Oregon Leaders, and offered full tuition fellowships, minus $100 deposit.
2. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Leadership Scholarships
BBBSA provides a leadership opportunity to mentoring professionals from BBBSA affiliated programs. All applicants from BBBS programs are automatically considered for a BBBSA scholarship. In 2012 we anticipate offering 4 BBBSA Leadership Scholarships of $250.
3. Summer Institute Need-Based Scholarships
The Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring provides need-based scholarships to applicants to enable mentoring program staff to attend, based on availability of funds. All successful applicants who submit a scholarship request form are considered for a need-based scholarship. Scholarships are nonnegotiable, are partial (cover only a portion of the tuition), and are not available to defray travel or other costs.
