 | Priya Kandaswamy is an assistant professor of women's studies at Portland State
University. She received her Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies from the
University of California at Berkeley. Her current project analyzes race
and the rhetoric of family values in historical and contemporary
debates about social welfare in the U.S. Her research and teaching
interests include examining the intersections of race, gender,
sexuality and class in such contemporary issues as globalization,
immigration, the welfare system, the criminal justice system, and
violence against women. |
