Sexual Violence and Social Sustainablity
You may have seen the many current projects at PSU focused on sustainability. There are three “pillars” of sustainability that intersect to promote sustainability at multiple levels: economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability.
Social sustainability is rooted in social equity. Equity is not present when gender-based sexual violence is a common and normalized occurrence in our communities. By joining the movement to end gender-based violence with the movement to promote sustainability, we are more likely to achieve our common goals of recognizing true interconnection and building lasting, healthy, sustainable communities.
