Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence
The WRC serves students of all genders. We are available to answer questions, work with student survivors, and advocate on behalf of their self-identified needs, decisions, wishes, questions, and concerns.
Please explore this site for information on sexual assault and relationship violence. You might also wish to access information specifically tailored to students working in the sex industry, male survivors, or GLBTQQ survivors. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call the WRC at 503-725-5672.
The WRC is here to serve all students who have been affected by sexual violence of any kind. Sexual violence is behavior that is unwanted and/or nonconsensual, and has the purpose or effect of producing harm. It includes behavior along a continuum of severity, from offensive talk to physical violence, including but not limited to rape. Underlying the continuum are the beliefs and attitudes that justify or normalize sexual violence.
Sexual violence does not occur solely between specific types of people or in specific places; incidents of sexual misconduct can happen to anyone, regardless of sex, gender, age, ethnicity, class, religion, sexual orientation, clothing, demeanor, relationship status, or any other choice or identity. Regardless of who you are, where you are, what you do, or what you have done in the past, sexual violence is never your fault. The only person who is ever at fault for sexual violence is the perpetrator.
The WRC's Interpersonal Violence (IPV) Advocate is available to support any student who would like to know more about their options for resources and support. To reach the IPV Advocate, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503-725-5672. If you would like to speak to an Advocate after hours, plase call the Portland Women's Crisis Line at 503-235-5333.
The PSU Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response website can help you access information on PSU's policies, on and off-campus resources, and Reporting Options. Please call us at 503-725-5672 if you have any questions.
