Greater Portland Pulse (portlandpulse.org) is a growing community partnership that utilizes both data and dialogue to encourage coordinated action toward the betterment of our region. The Greater Portland Pulse website includes more than 100 data sets, including demographic data, all focused on the greater Portland region. This fall we are hosting a series of FREE workshops for PSU Faculty & Students. The 2 hour workshop covers navigating our website, downloading and customizing the data for your own purposes. Downloaded data can be used for a variety of purposes, including reports, class projects, lectures, and grant applications.
Who should take this workshop:
- Anyone interested in using data to learn about the greater Portland region.
- Anyone interested in accessing and understanding data to track social, environmental, and economic well-being for the Portland region
- Anyone interested in learning how to use WEAVE, an open-source visualizaion tool that we use on Greater Portland Pulse (portlandpulse.org)
- You should have basic spreadsheet skills and be able to use a computer and mouse. No special database training is required
