The Urban Transfer Research Network is expanding
  • In September 2009, Peter Collier and Juliette Stoering presented at the Association for Institutional Research and Planning (PNAIRP) held in Portland, OR.
  • In July 2009, Rowanna Carpenter, Kathi Ketcheson, Shelly Potts, and Juliette Stoering presented at the UTRN All-sit meeting held in Portland, OR.
  • In May 2009, Rowanna Carpenter, Kathi Ketcheson, Shelly Potts, and Juliette Stoering made a presentation  at the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Annual Forum held in Atlanta, GA.
  • In July 2008, a UTRN All-Site Meeting was held in Portland, OR with Arizona, Florida, and Oregon project partners.
  • In May 2008, Kathi Ketcheson and Jan Ignash made a presentation on different approaches to charting student pathways at the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Annual Forum held in Seattle, WA.

  • In February 2008, Rowanna Carpenter, Joan Jagodnik, Beth Pitonzo and Juliette Stoering presented a UTRN progess report and preliminary findings at the Student Success and Retention Conference held in Portland, OR.
  • In July 2007, Kathi Ketcheson, Jan Ignash and Gail Hackett made a presentation about the Urban Transfer Research Network at the 4th Biennial Conference on Transfer and Articulation held in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • In May 2007, Gail Hackett, Ph.D., Vice Provost and Dean of University College, Arizona State University, replaced David E. Schwalm, Ph.D., as Co-Principal Investigator for Arizona State University. Shelly Potts, Ph.D., Assistant Dean of University College at Arizona State University, will serve as Project Leader in Arizona.
  • In January 2007, Clackamas Community College in Clackamas, Oregon, joined the project. Judy Redder, Operations Manager of Curriculum and Reporting at Clackamas Community College, joined the Data Advisory Committee.
  • In January 2007, Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, joined the project. Doug Moxley, Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Chemeketa Community College joined the Policy Advisory Committee.
  • In January 2007, Masami Nishishiba, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Portland State University, joined the Data Advisory Committee.
  • UTRN Project Leaders met with Institutional Research Directors in the area at the Metro Consortium meeting held on January 4, 2007. UTRN will be working in cooperation with the Portland Area Higher Education Consortium in efforts to provide greater access to courses and degrees for students without having to negotiate multiple systems, and a more coordinated delivery of educational programs in the region.
  • In July 2006, Arizona State University - East Campus and Maricopa Community College joined the research project. David E. Schwalm, Ph.D., is serving as the co-principal investigator for Arizona State University - East Campus.
  • In March 2006, Portland Community College joined the research project. Craig Kolins, Dean of Instruction and Student Development at PCC serves as Chair of the Policy Advisory Committee. Laura Massey, Director of Institutional Effectiveness at PCC joined UTRN's Policy Advisory Committee and Ron Smith of PCC's Office of Institutional Research serves as a Data Analyst on the Data Advisory Committee.
