Steve Johnson hosts Japanese contingents
Steve Johnson, Urban Studies and Planning adjunct faculty, hosted several Japanese contingents over the summer to show them Portland's exceptional civic life and service learning at PSU. He hosted the mayor and other officials from Sendai City and Toyota City. He made presentations on civic engagement and gave them a tour of the city. In September, he gave a lecture to 30 visiting Japanese high school students, who are members of the "super science" program in Tokyo. He was also featured in a series of articles about Portland's civic life for the Yomiuri newspaper, which has the world's largest circulation.
