"Real Estate Development in the Sustainable City" Conference, May 30

What: Portland State University’s Center for Real Estate presents “Real Estate Development in the Sustainable City,” with keynote speaker Peter Calthorpe of Calthrope Associates, the 2006 winner of the Urban Land Institute J.C. Nichols prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. The event will provide the Portland community with integral information and trends in the national and local real estate markets and will also promote PSU’s Center for Real Estate academic programs and curriculum.

Panelists for the conference include Sam Adams, Portland city commissioner; Bruce Warner, Portland Development Commission; Karen Williams, Lane Powell PC; and Bruce Wood, Foundation Real Estate Development. Scott Langley, Ashforth Pacific, Inc., will moderate.

When: Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 7:30–10 a.m.

Where: Hilton Portland and Executive Tower (921 SW Sixth Ave.)

Cost: Tickets are $50 by May 23; $60 at the door; and $500 for a table of eight. Breakfast will be provided.

Background: Portland State's Center for Real Estate is housed in both the Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning and the School of Business Administration. The Center offers three real estate degree programs: a graduate certificate in Real Estate Development, an undergraduate major in Real Estate Finance and an undergraduate minor in Real Estate Development.
